Revolution Muay Thai - Sunshine Coast, owned by Head Coach, Carl Drapper is proudly connected to the infamous powerhouse that is Revolution Muay Thai - Phuket, owned by Carl’s long-time friend, Tim Fisher. Internationally renowned for its fighters and raw, authentic training, our Phuket HQ inspires the spirit we bring into every class here in Queensland: tough training, zero ego, and genuine community.

Experienced Coaches

Tim and Carl have known each other since the early 2000s, when Carl was running the World Muay Thai (WMC) Camp in Koh Samui, and Tim was running the Chai Yai Muay Thai Camp in Chiang Mai. Their shared history, values, and coaching philosophy laid the foundation for what would become a long-standing friendship and professional connection. Today, our Sunshine Coast gym is proud to be part of the extended Revolution family -sharing the same values, training standards, and love for the sport.

Carl Drapper

Carl Drapper brings over 25 years of experience in Muay Thai and MMA to the Sunshine Coast. A lifelong martial artist, Carl has trained and coached at the highest levels, including producing multiple WMC Victorian state champions and running his own gym - Melbourne's first ever MMA gym - Victoria. He’s not only developed top-tier fighters but also built strong communities around martial arts - something that remains central to his coaching today.

After 15 years running Melbourne's first ever MMA gym - and coaching fighters to state championship level - Carl moved up to the Sunshine Coast for a better life for his kids. Carl soon saw a clear gap on the Sunshine Coast for a Muay Thai gym that genuinely welcomed all levels, from complete beginners to experienced athletes.

Carl brings with him a fresh approach to Sunshine Coast Muay Thai gyms: beginners friendly, no egos, and just high-quality Muay Thai in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Orono

Orono is the real deal - a fighter who’s lived and breathed Muay Thai at the very highest level in Thailand. With over 400 fights to his name, he’s been in the ring with some of the sport’s most dangerous opponents, earning a reputation for his powerful clinch game, relentless knees, and technical mastery. Featured in Thai sports media and awarded for some of the most exciting fights of his era, Orono embodies the warrior spirit of Muay Thai.

Orono is a certified coach with the Kru Muaythai Association, officially recognised by Thailand’s Ministry of Culture. This isn’t just a piece of paper - it’s proof that his knowledge and ability to pass on authentic Muay Thai has been tested and respected at the highest level.

Orono brings this wealth of experience to the mats. He’s known for his warm, approachable coaching style — beginners quickly discover that he’s not just a legend in the ring, but also one of the most patient and encouraging teachers you could hope for.
